Golden Gate Point

100% residential community located on a peninsula between Downtown Sarasota and Sarasota Bay. Gulfstream Avenue/Downtown Bay Front

On the historical marker located here it is written, "Sarasota Bay and its downtown bayfront have long been considered the brightest jewels in Sarasota's crown. Chicago socialite and local proclaimed Sarasota Bay more beautiful than the Bay of Naples (Italy)"

This area is part of Sarasota's original plat of 1885. While it has had many names, it is the place where members of our community intersect, full of treasures and history. Historic markers and buildings remind us of its vibrancy and importance over 100 years ago with a department store, lunch counter, barbershop & billiards hall. East Main/East Ringling (EMA&ERI)

As downtown life spreads eastward, it is greeted by the largest downtown public green space - Payne Park. The former location for spring training games, this park now serves as the northern terminus of the Legacy Trail (an 18-mile bike/pedestrian pathway from Downtown Sarasota to Venice). While only a handful blocks away its quietness gives it a feel of suburbia, yet the metropolis is just a 10-15 minute walk.

Depending on the location you can use Publix (grocery store) as your refrigerator and Selby (botanical gardens) as your back yard. Double wide sidewalk offers good walking opportunities to the Sarasota bay front.
